Pittsburgh Corning, known for their cellular glass insulation, invested in 79 LightCatchers for its Foamglas factory in Tessenderlo, Belgium.

There was previously no daylight in their workshop. 56 Lightcatchers ensure that employees can work in pleasant conditions in the production area.

The remaining 23 LightCatchers were installed in the workshop.

The installation on a sloping roof of about 15 degrees was not an obstacle: Econation can customize the light shafts and roof upstands.

However, it was only after installation that a negative impact of the wind turbine blades' cast shadow on the LightCatchers became noticeable.

In consultation with the customer, a solution was then worked out in which the Lightcatchers can be covered with a slat system only during those hours when there is shadow impact. As soon as the sun no longer casts a shadow on the windmill blades, the system slides open again and maximum use can be made of daylight.
