HTM is the leading public transport provider in the The Hague region, extending its services to surrounding municipalities such as Delft, Leidschendam-Voorburg, Pijnacker-Nootdorp, Rijswijk, and Zoetermeer. HTM has a strong focus on sustainability and is striving for a zero-emission fleet.
Since 2009, the company has used natural gas buses and aims to replace all buses with zero-emission vehicles by the end of 2024. Additionally, HTM uses green energy for its buildings and maximizes the use of daylight and self-generated energy through solar panels.
The LightCatchers were seamlessly integrated among the existing solar panels, with minimal roof space loss, allowing for the installation of even more PV modules. The sloped roof structure on part of the project was no obstacle, thanks to a custom made light shaft. In 2022, HTM was recognized by the Dutch Authority for Consumers & Markets (ACM) as the most sustainable urban transport provider.
