In Opglabbeek, Scania Parts Logistics built a new 37,000 m² hall. The focus was on sustainability.

The walls were given an insulation layer of 10 cm, the roof of 15 cm. That is good for an E-level of 18, comparable to passive houses. As a result, the entire building will be kept at temperature with only 12 heaters. The Lightcatchers illuminate the aisles with a minimum of roof openings, thus maintaining the good insulation value. A total of 140 Lightcatchers were provided, representing only 237 m² or 0.6% of the total roof area.

Of course, taking advantage of the free daylight also saves a huge amount of electricity.
