For the Die Sceure sports hall in Vleteren, daylight has always been a priority. However, the skylights initially installed caused undesirable effects: overheating in the summer and significant heat loss during the winter months.

At the request of the Vleteren municipality, Econation proposed an innovative approach. All skylights were removed and replaced with a limited number of strategically placed LightCatchers, based on a detailed daylight study. This ensured not only comparable brightness levels but also a more even distribution of daylight across the entire floor area.

Additionally, the LightCatchers contribute to improved energy efficiency: their built-in air gap provides an insulating effect for the building envelope, reducing heating costs in the winter and cooling expenses in the summer. These changes have made Die Sceure sports hall not only more comfortable but also more sustainable.
